rediscover small
Small Robin Press cares deeply about the power of small voices. We publish new and emerging writers, underrepresented authors, and folx from intersectional communities making big differences through small actions.
Creating stories is all about telling the world who we are. We envision a world where even the smallest of those voices has a place.
our community
Small Robin Press wasn’t entirely obvious from the start. We built a community on Substack through connections with lots of “small” publications as a focal point where we could celebrate being and staying small, connecting with our audience, and celebrating a personal approach to building relationships. Many of our community members wrote beautiful guest essays or featured posts for us, and the Small Robin Press team honed our editing and publishing skills along the way.
the SmallStack Library
In 2024 we created the SmallStack Library, an electronic listing of publications with fewer than 1000 subscribers. The SmallStack Library creates visibility for publications which might otherwise be lost in the noise of big names and big promotion. Small Robin Press continues to find innovative ways to uplift small publications in our community by hosting guest essays, sharing featured posts, and providing opportunities to share and celebrate together.
a tiny publisher of books
After opening the SmallStack Library, we asked ourselves what the next step should be. Our community consistently asked us to reopen our submission process for guest essays which helped us see our place as an independent publisher of small voices. We published our very first anthology in 2025. Small Robin Press is a tiny, independent publisher of books filled with the voices of writers who struggle to be seen elsewhere. The relationships we create with our authors fill us with joy and wonder. To find out more about our upcoming books, please visit our submissions page.
